My name is Jill and I’m the GUIDE for this online community where we share stories of Outdoor Adventures and learn about the healing found in Nature Therapy. Welcome!
WHO I AM:
I am in my second half of life. I am a sometimes-too-independent wife and an always-so-proud mom of seven children, most of whom are grown and wandering the world. I am a voracious reader, a dream-chaser, a wounded hope-er, a born-teacher, and a nomadic gypsy (in my heart). I prefer to live “outside the box” and I hate to be expected to color inside the lines. I treasure hearing the stories of others. There is a richness found in sharing life experiences and encouraging others along the way.
WHAT IS THE BIG EPIC?
This website is a hub for an online community that encourages members to Connect with Nature, for healing and for adventure. It is a place for story-telling around a virtual campfire, sharing our adventures large and small. It is an online classroom for learning about the healing power of being outdoors. It is a space for exploring new ways to make deep connections with Nature.
PURSUE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE:
I am excited to have you join myself and others on this quest to find our place in this world. Our family pursues dreams and loves the challenge of new adventures. For the past few years, my teen daughter and I take long backpacking trips on the Appalachian Trail. When we are home, we continue to spend time outdoors by exploring hidden parks and wandering trails in our local area. It’s fun to share stories about our adventures…and to hear what friends are doing! (Read blog posts HERE )
FIND NATURE’S HEALING:
Life seems to go more smoothly when I make time to soak up the sun, look for beauty, and savor the sights and sounds of the natural world. I was surprised to discover there is strong scientific evidence for the healing benefits of Nature which:
- Boosts immune function
- Improves sleep habits
- Lowers stress & resulting physical & emotional illnesses
- Enhances mood, clarity of thinking, and creativity
- Has no known harmful side effects
MAKE DEEP CONNECTIONS:
Rather than merely practicing other forms of therapy in an outdoor setting, Forest Therapy Guides help people forge their own deep connections with Nature for personal healing and growth. In 2019 I completed a six-month intensive training program with an association of guides. I am currently working through the process to associate with the Global Institute of Forest Therapy (GIFT) for ongoing support, accountability, and continuing education. I look forward to sharing this knowledge with each of you—in this online community, in personal coaching sessions, and while guiding Nature Immersion experiences in real life. (Learn more HERE )

My friend Howard and I ran into you and your daughter at the Ensign Cowall shelter near Wolfsville Rd on September 9.
As usual when I run into hikers, I took a photo of you two.
How can I email it to you?
